2019 Release of SUMup firn density, accumulation, snow depth on sea ice, and 10 m borehole temperature observations available at ADC
The SUMup database containing over 2,500,000 community observations of snow/firn density on ice sheets, snow accumulation on ice sheets, snow depth on sea ice, and our new dataset of 10 meter borehole temperatures is now available at the Arctic Data Center.
We continue to expand this database annually through contributions of field observations from the community. *If you would like to submit any measurements of snow/firn density, annual snow accumulation or snow depth on sea ice for the SUMup August 2020 release, please contact or Lynn Montgomery ([hidden email]) or Lora Koenig (lora.[hidden email]) *by June 2020* to contribute or for more information.
Also, Max Stevens has provided a python script to help with visualizing the location (and see a bit of
metadata) of each core in the density database. You can find his script on GitHub at
https://github.com/maximusjstevens/SumUpTools with more information on how the code works with
the data. You can contact him at [hidden email] for more information.
