3-year post-doc in glaciology at Iowa State

Neal R Iverson
Dear Cryolist members,

Please be aware that review of applications for the post-doctoral position
advertised below will begin earlier than I originally reported (Feb. 18 rather
than Mar. 1).

Best wishes,

The Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences at Iowa State
University seeks a full-time postdoctoral researcher to conduct
experiments with a laboratory device that allows study of glacier
sliding over a rigid or deformable bed. Training in glaciology or a
related field and experience with electromechanical devices and data
acquisition are required. Experience with fluid modeling or LabVIEW is
desirable. The successful applicant will teach one course per year as
part of the post-doctoral mentoring program.

Position is for three years, starting Aug. 16, 2011 (flexible). Salary
is $42-50k, plus benefits. Applicants should submit a CV, statement of
research interests, and names and contact information for three
references to Dr. Neal Iverson, [hidden email], or to Dept.
Geol. & Atmos. Sci., 253 Science I Hall, Iowa State University, Ames,
IA 50011. Application review will begin Feb. 18, 2011, and continue
until the position is filled. Iowa State University is an equal
opportunity/affirmative action employer.
