AGU Session: Seismic geomorphology

Andrew Newton-2

Dear colleagues,

Following a successful edition at the EGU meeting earlier this year, we warmly invite members on the list who might be interested in submitting an abstract to the following session at the AGU Fall Meeting:

S024 - Integration of Seismic Geomorphology, Stratigraphy, and Borehole-derived Data for Paleo-environmental Reconstruction

Session ID: 81167

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, 31 July at 23:59 EDT

“Seismic geomorphology has recently gained popularity due to the availability of regional 3D seismic reflection datasets, affordable computational power, and advancements made in seismic interpretation and visualization techniques. For this session we welcome submissions from a wide range of geological settings, thus, exposing seismic interpreters and non-specialists to a variety of geological perspectives, the latest seismic interpretation workflows, issues with equifinality, and examples of effective seismic-borehole integration, all under the theme of how these data are investigated, combined, and applied (e.g. paleo-environmental reconstruction, seafloor engineering, or carbon sequestration).”

We are looking forward to stimulating discussions amongst a multidisciplinary audience!

Abstracts can be submitted to:

Best wishes from the Conveners,

Florian Smit (University of Copenhagen)

Angela Slagle (Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory)

Andrew Newton (Queen’s University Belfast)
