AGU Session of Interest

Anders Carlson
We would like to bring the following Fall AGU session to your attention entitled "Evolution of the Greenland Ice Sheet Over the Cenozoic" and encourage abstract submission. The deadline for abstracts if 8 Aug. at midnight East North America Standard Time. Abstracts can be submitted at:

Invited speakers:
Julie Brigham-Grette, U. Mass-Amherst
Kira Lawrence, Lafayette U.
Dorthe Dahl-Jensen, U. Copenhagen

The paleo-history of the Greenland Ice Sheet provides important information on its response time to climate change, its potential to develop instabilities, and its contribution to past sea-level highstands. This session will bring together glacial geologists, paleoceanographers, paleoclimatologists, and ice-sheet and climate modelers with common goal of assessing the geologic history of the Greenland Ice Sheet and its response to past climate change since its inception in the late Cenozoic. We welcome contributions from terrestrial and marine geologists, and the ice sheet-climate modeling community.
