Announcing Parallel Ice Sheet Model (PISM) version stable0.5

Edward Bueler
Dear CRYOLIST readers,

We are pleased to announce the release of the Parallel Ice Sheet Model
(PISM) version "stable0.5".  See the PISM homepage

   www.pism-docs.org

for complete information including download instructions.  PISM source
code is hosted at

   github.com/pism/pism

Help with installation and usage is available through  [hidden email].

The homepage website has a changelog from stable0.4.  The most
significant  changes are improvements to climate coupling/forcing
code, and the introduction of a regional-modeling mode.

If you have checked out a pre-release version of the stable0.5 source
code, please do "git pull" in the PISM directory and then do "make
install" in your PISM build directory.

PISM is in use by a growing international user base.  For a sample of
projects and publications, see

    www.pism-docs.org/wiki/doku.php?id=publications
    www.pism-docs.org/wiki/doku.php?id=projects

PISM is a joint project of developers at the University of Alaska,
Fairbanks and at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research
(PIK). Development is supported by NASA's Modeling, Analysis, and
Prediction (MAP) program.

Best Regards,

Ed Bueler
Constantine Khroulev
Andy Aschwanden
and the PISM authors
