CAAML V5.0 Profile - Snow Profile IACS

Dear Cryolister,

The international format for snow profile exchange
"CAAML V5.0 Profile - Snow Profile IACS" is now available
at <>.

The format is based on the Canadian Avalanche Association Markup Language
CAAML <> and complies to the International Classification for
Seasonal Snow on the Ground <>
It is thus fully supported by the International Association of Cryospheric
Sciences IACS.

Note that the international format is not primarily meant for individual use
but rather to be included in Snow Profile Graphing Software and similar

The format not only fulfills requirements of practitioners but also includes
elements to encode, for example,  SnowMicroPen or Specific Surface Area profiles
and is well suited to exchange both snow pit as well as snow model data.

More info about the current status of CAAML as well as future developments
are and will be posted on <>

Best regards
Charles Fierz
