EGU 2013: CR3.8 "Tropical glaciers and Climate dynamics"

Antoine Rabatel
Dear colleagues.

At EGU 2013 (Vienna, 07-12 April 2013) we will have a session on:
Tropical glaciers and climate dynamics (CR3.8).

This session aims at attracting a broad range of contributions,
including the following main research lines:
1) Studies on tropical glacier mass balance, surface energy balance,
changes in surface-area, volume or ELA over recent years and decades
from field measurements or remote-sensing techniques.
2) Research on tropical climate variability and change, and on the
relationship between climate and glacier changes on any temporal or
spatial scale.
3) Contributions addressing the importance of tropical glacier water
resources for local and regional natural and socio-economic systems both
in the recent past and future.

This session will begin with a keynote presentation by Dr. Thomas Mölg
(EGU2011 Young Scientists Award) about "the widespread physical linkages
that tropical glaciers maintain with the climate system".

For more information about the CR3.8 session, please refer to:
http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2013/session/12332

Remember that the abstract submission deadline is: 9 January 2013.

We hope to see you in Vienna.

Best regards.

Antoine Rabatel, Christian Huggel, Mathias Vuille and Jean-Emmanuel
Sicart (conveners).
