Description: The Department of Civil Engineering at Montana State University invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position in engineering mechanics at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level. Primary duties and responsibilities consist of teaching, research and service/outreach.
Teaching duties include undergraduate and graduate engineering mechanics courses with enrollment
composed primarily of Civil and Mechanical Engineering students. Research responsibilities consist
of developing an internationally-recognized, externally-funded research program in engineering
mechanics with a connection to snow and ice science. Candidates considered at the Associate
Professor level will be expected to assume an immediate leadership role and foster growth in snow
and ice mechanics and cold environment research.
