Dear All-

I am writing to invite all of you who are interested in polar research and research vessels
to make your contribution to a new project which the UNOLS Office has taken on.

In December 2010, at the request of NSF, the UNOLS office established a new committee,
the Polar Research Vessel Committee, PRV. The primary tasking is to review and refresh
the science mission requirements which were completed in 2006. The attached letter will provide
additional details on this effort.

To ensure broad community input, we have established an electronic survey and a Workshop
is scheduled for February 28 & March 1, 2011 in Arlington, VA.  Please see this survey and
workshop registration at:

We are requesting that you complete this survey by 28 January and please let us know as soon
as possible if you are interested in attending the workshop.

Thank you very much for your assistance and we look forward to your ideas, comments, and thoughts.
