Job Announcement: Modelling of Rock and Ice viscoplastic deformation behaviour, Grenoble, France
The ERC Rheovolution project, held by Andrea Tommasi from Geosciences Montpellier, aims at designing innovative tools and methods to simulated deformation and flow of rocks (including ice) at various scales.
The innovative approach suggests to take into account heterogeneities and anisotropy in a stochastic way. The person hired in the frame of this post-doctoral position will be in charge of developing new modelling tools for simulating the deformation of ice, by making use of the finite element library C++ Rheolef.
The position is for 2 years, located at Institut of Geosciences of Environment (IGE), Grenoble, France, starting December 1st.
