PhD opportunity in snow hydrology and remote-sensing at UQTR, Canada

Kinnard, Christophe

PhD opportunity in snow hydrology and remote-sensing at UQTR, Canada

The Canada Research Chair in Cryosphere Hydrology welcomes applications for a funded PhD position in snow hydrology at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Canada. The research project will study the role of land cover heterogeneity on snow cover and runoff processes in southeastern Canada using micrometeorological measurements and high-resolution remote-sensing with unmanned aerial vehicles. Qualified students would have a background in environmental earth science or physical geography, aptitudes for fieldwork and numerical data analysis, as well as a strong academic record.

The PhD project will begin between May and September 2018 under the supervision of Professor Christophe Kinnard at the Department of Environmental Sciences at UQTR (www.uqtr.ca/glaciolab). Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Kinnard at [hidden email]. More information on the project and application process can be found here or at the GlacioLab webpage.
