PhD position at University College London

Giles, Katharine

Applicants are sought for a PhD Studentship in satellite observations of the Arctic Ocean at the Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling, Department of Earth Sciences, University College London


A three year NERC-funded studentship is available to start on 1 Oct 2012 for a suitably qualified candidate to conduct research leading to the award of a PhD degree in the following topic: 

Arctic Ocean mean dynamic topography from satellite altimetry and gravity measurements

A successful candidate will have a degree (2(i) minimum) in applied mathematics, physics, geophysics, or a similar numerate subject.

Eligibility for this funding is in accordance with Research Council eligibility criteria, which are described in detail at: http://www.nerc.ac.uk/funding/available/postgrad/eligibility.asp

Due to funding restrictions candidates should be UK/EU citizens and have no restrictions on the length of stay in the UK. Applicants who do not fulfill these criteria should not apply.
