To whom it may concern:

With this email I would like to attract your attention to a PhD opportunity within my physical geography research group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway (announcement with title below).

Fully-funded PhD at NTNU, Norway: Mapping sinks for microplastics in Norway and Svalbard

The Department of Geography at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim, Norway, has an opening for a 3-year, fully-funded PhD position. The successful PhD candidate will map microplastics along river-to-sea and sea ice-to-coastal pathways in Norway and Svalbard.  The aim of the project is to develop a better understanding of natural transport processes and sinks for microplastics in these environments, specifically: why and how are microplastics removed from the water surface, where are they stored, and for how long?

A more detailed description of the position, qualification requirements, application instructions, and contact information can be found here: https://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/164949/phd-candidate-in-physical-geography  Kindly note the rapidly approaching deadline (March 22, 2019).
