Please respond to survey on Antarctic support

Michael N. Gooseff
Dear Antarctic Colleagues,

Apologies for cross-postings…

The NSF has requested that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the NSF and USGS, specifically in the context of USGS support of research related to Antarctic earth sciences be assessed. The review panel [Dr. Michael Gooseff, chair, Dr. Kathy Licht, Dr. David Marchant, Dr. Dean Peterson, and Dr. Christine Siddoway] is charged with reviewing the USGS activities to determine whether they are meeting the needs of the Antarctic research community (including the USAP, logistics professionals, international efforts, etc.) and are evolving to meet future needs. It is in the spirit of determining these two elements that we are seeking input from the community on their perspectives regarding USGS activities.

If you work in Antarctica, we request your anonymous participation in this survey:

** This survey should only take about 5-10 minutes of your time. **

The survey will conclude on 23 April, 2011 at 11 pm eastern time, so we appreciate your efforts within this short window!
Please also feel free to forward this to colleagues, students, and postdocs (including international collaborators).

Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

On behalf of the review committee,
Michael Gooseff
