Postdoctoral position in ice and climate physics

Till Wagner-2
Postdoctoral position in ice and climate physics at the University of North Carolina Wilmington

A postdoctoral position in ice and climate physics is available at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (www.uncw.edu). Applications are invited from candidates with a recent or expected Ph.D. in physical oceanography, climate science, applied mathematics, glaciology, or a related field. Strong mathematical skills and experience with climate or ice models is desirable.

Successful applicants will be involved in research projects related to recent sea ice changes, the decay and climate impact of icebergs, ice-ocean interactions and calving at tidewater glaciers and ice shelves, etc. The research will make use of mathematical and physical analyses of idealized models of the atmosphere-ocean-ice system and more comprehensive climate or ice models, as well as drawing on observations. See www.tillwagner.me for further details about the group.

The duration of the position is expected to be two years, contingent on progress during the first year and availability of funds. Interested candidates are welcome to contact Till Wagner ([hidden email]) with any questions. Applicants should email a curriculum vitae, contact information for three references, and a brief description of research interests to [hidden email]. Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled.

The official posting for the position is found here: jobs.uncw.edu/postings/11101
