Postdoctoral researcher at University of Alaska for airborne electromagnetic-snow radar system
The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a postdoctoral researcher
to join the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the
Institute of Northern Engineering. The position will involve working as
part of an multidisciplinary team developing an airborne electromagnetic
(AEM) sensor equipped with a snow radar for measuring sea ice and snow
thickness from Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Applicants are required to have a PhD in Computer Engineering or
Electrical Engineering or a related field, with experience in remote
sensing or unmanned aerial systems. The successful candidate will have a
strong background one or more of the following areas: radar systems, EM
modelling, signal processing, and embedded systems. The candidate must
also be able work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting without
close supervision and have experience publishing in peer reviewed journals.
The responsibilities include: design, analysis, building, and testing of
an AEM-snow radar system and its components.
