Registration is open for TAM camp Antarctic workshop
Registration is now open for the upcoming TAM camp workshop to discuss and select the next site for a proposed deep field camp in the Transantarctic
Mountains. The workshop will be held June 25-27, 2012 at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Go to
tamcamp.org and look for the 'Attend'
tab to find information about the workshop and the online registration forms. This workshop is funded by the NSF Office of Polar Programs and will provide travel support to a limited number of investigators. Please register as early as possible; registration
will close on May 20.
The workshop is open to U.S. participants in all disciplines, from well-established scientists to PhD students who are interested in research questions that require fieldwork
in the Transantarctic Mountains. The first two days of the workshop will integrate disciplinary and interdisciplinary poster sessions, discussions and oral presentations to identify and summarize science priorities.
The third day of the workshop will be dedicated to assisting new investigators in understanding Antarctic field logistics and to begin drafting a logistics plan. A more detailed agenda will
be posted on the website in the coming weeks.
