Two MEaSUREs ice velocity mosaic datasets now available at NSIDC DAAC

Greg Deemer

Dear Colleague,

Two new ice velocity mosaic data sets are now available as part of the Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program: the MEaSUREs Greenland Monthly Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR and Landsat 8, Version 1 and MEaSUREs Greenland Quarterly Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR and Landsat 8, Version 1 data sets are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). These data sets contain monthly and quarterly (three-month interval) ice velocity mosaics for the Greenland Ice Sheet derived from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data obtained by the German Aerospace Center's (DLR) TerraSAR-X/TanDEM-X (TSX/TDX), the European Space Agency's (ESA) Copernicus Sentinel-1A and -1B satellites, and from US Geological Survey (USGS) Landsat 8 optical imagery. The data are available from December 2014 through November 2016. Access to the data and documentation is provided on the data set Web pages at the NSIDC DAAC:
