UK Polar Network Circumpolar Remote Sensing Workshop Day

Allen Pope
UKPN Circumpolar Remote Sensing Workshop

The 11th Circumpolar Remote Sensing Symposium will be held at
Cambridge University’s Scott Polar Research Institute on 21-24
September 2010. Taking advantage of the international scope and
expertise of this event, prior to CRSS the UKPN (www.polarnetwork.org)
will hold a one-day workshop on the subject of circumpolar remote
sensing.

Directed at graduate students and other early career researchers,
sessions in development include Open source remote sensing and GIS,
Imaging climate change, and Innovating new techniques; suggestions
from potential participants are encouraged. The day will also feature
a career mentoring panel and will culminate with the CRSS Icebreaker
Reception. While attendance at the CRSS conference is encouraged, it
is not required in order to attend the UKPN day.

Attendance at the event is free of charge and some funds are available
to assist with travel costs, attendance at the associated CRSS, and
conference presentation prizes.

Application Deadline: 15 July, 2010 – register at www.polarnetwork.org
