Ua user meeting and a course for new users

Gudmundsson, Hilmar

Úa user meeting and a course for new users

The British Antarctic Survey is hosting a user meeting for the users of
the ice-flow model Úa, and a beginners course for new users.

Úa is a finite-element ice-flow model developed at the British Antarctic
Survey. It is easy to use, robust, and an ideal tool to solve flow of ice
sheets, ice shelves and alpine glaciers.

The meeting will be held at the British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge, from
 Monday 22 to Friday 26 May, 2016.

There will be introduction to the use of model and presentations by
current users in the mornings.  The afternoons can be used to set up and
run models, and participants are encouraged to work on their own modelling
 problems.

The number of places is limited to 20. There is no course fee. Students
are required to take care of their own accommodation and travel
arrangements. There some scope for contributing towards travelling
 expenses in justified cases.
